The international press launch of the new Multistrada 1200 has taken place in the Canary Islands, and journalists from around the world have had a chance to ride and review the bike properly. The results have started to appear on internet sites, and will continue to flow over the next couple of weeks, followed by the major industry print publications later in the month. Rumors persisted for months about a forthcoming "game changing" bike from Ducati. Stop by Ducati Omaha, choose your model and color, and place a $500 deposit to reserve your bike. We will then register your selection via the Ducati Priority Reservation Program, and delivery of your new Multistrada will be scheduled! Deliveries of customer bikes have already begun, so there's not a long wait if you act quick! Ducati North America is excited to announce a significant milestone in the company's engineering history: 15,000 mile major service intervals on the 2010 Multistrada 1200.
The Multistrada 1200 is the product of Ducati's most intensive development program ever. Entering the arena of adventure touring motorcycles, Ducati set its sights on the class benchmarks. Doubling the mileage between valve clearance inspections has been made possible due to the introduction of a new valve seat material. This material enables the new "Testastretta 11°" powerplant to go the distance - both literally and figuratively.
