So how do we ensure your helmet fits properly?  The Arai Helmet Fitting System!  The two most important aspects of this are head size and head shape.  Arai is the ONLY helmet manufacturer who offers 3 different shell shapes to provide the most precise fit possible to ensure your safety.  The three shell shapes offered in the current line of Arai street helmets are:  Long Oval, Intermediate Oval, and Round Oval.



Long Oval - (Very Long front-to-back, very narrow side-to- side). On this end of the scale, we have the PROFILE model, offering additional forehead room for those who find that most helmets have pressure points in the forehead.


Intermediate Oval - (Shorter front-to-back and a little wider side-to-side than the Long Oval). This fit package begins the shift from oblong towards round.


Round Oval - (Even a little shorter front-to-back and a little wider side-to-side). This fit package is represented by our Quantum-2 model.

The Arai Helmet Fitting Process:
The Fitting process begins by a quick visual examination of the customers head shape.  Often, we're able to recommend the correct shell shape easily just by looking at a customer's head shape.  For customers in the "middle of the range" of head shapes, it may not be obvious which shape will fit the best just by visual examination, that's where the trying-on begins.  Measuring the longest distance around the head provides guidance on which size will likely work best, but trying the helmet on is still extremely important regardless of what the measurement is.  Subtle differences in the shape of a person's had can result in a final shape/size recommendation in a helmet that defies what the "fitting chart" might say.  That's where the professional service of an Arai Helmet Fitting Center is key!
